The Ibadan Indie Film Awards(IFA) has been created to recognize and reward the excellence of young independent Nigerian filmmakers creating from anywhere around the globe. Established in 2022, the IFA is an annual event, held every November in the ancient city of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Every year, "The Jury" will award the best independent filmmakers through private screenings. All the annual winners receive the prestigious "IFA"
The Jury will carefully select the films to be nominated for the awards, and create a selection of nominated films to be screened in front of the live audience at The New Culture Studio, Ibadan. The winners will be announced at the event, on our website and on social media.
Acceptance of terms
Participation in the Festival and its film submission process implies acceptance, without reservation, of the present regulations. An entry form is valid without a signature and a seal.
Filmmakers can submit as many works to the categories as we're also about the filmmaker's portfolio. Films & filmmakers that don't necessarily win would be given honorable mentions. If an entry does not win it may be re-submitted in another year.
We also require an electronic press kit (synopsis and poster or screen grab) to post on our site.
An accurate Production Budget amount must be entered in your submission
By submitting your film you agree that you own the rights to it and are responsible for the content. By submitting you are granting IFA the right to post the name, synopsis and artwork on our sites.
Filmmakers are allowed to use the IFA Laurels on their winning or selected film ONLY. They can be used on posters as well as other related media.
